The Color of my Soul

I just finished reading "The Color of the Soul," by Tracey Bateman. I loved this book so much, and I am very excited that it is a series and hope there is more than two books in the series. The series title is The Penbrook Diaries. The second book is called "The Freedom of the Soul."
This book was one I thought would take me a couple of weeks, and it only took me a week. It's longer than most books I read, and I read it quicker than expected.
Reading this book took me into a whole new world; back in time to when there were slaves. Ithink it's horrible how we took folks and made them slaves just because they are colored. This book has a good theme; what I got from it was it's not the color or the way we look on the outside that matters, it's the inside and how we treat each other that matters. I like this book because a lot of the characters who were white folks married the colored folks. It should not be looked down on just because they marry this way; I think it's nice they are able to accept each other.

Redeeming Love

I just finished reading a wonderful book; it's called "Redeeming Love," by Francine Rivers. I really enjoyed this book. It had some parts that were really sad, but it was hard to put down, and it was over 400 pages and I finished it in about two weeks, instead of several months.

Read Francine River's reason for writing this book; it's amazing how God can use a person to write a story just from something they read in the Bible! Now that is awesome. www.francinerivers.com
