A Gift of Grace by Amy Clipston

Goodreads Summary:
Rebecca Kauffmans tranquil Old Order Amish life is transformed when she suddenly has custody of her two teenage nieces after her "English" sister and brother-in-law are killed in an automobile accident. Instant motherhood, after years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive a child of her own, is both a joy and a heartache. Rebecca struggles to give the teenage girls the guidance they need as well as fulfill her duties to Daniel as an Amish wife.

Rebellious Jessica is resistant to Amish ways and constantly in trouble with the community. Younger sister Lindsay is caught in the middle, and the strain between Rebecca and Daniel mounts as Jessicas rebellion escalates. Instead of the beautiful family life she dreamed of creating for her nieces, Rebecca feels as if her world is being torn apart by two different cultures, leaving her to question her place in the Amish community, her marriage, and her faith in God.

Wow, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to try and Amish background book or already knows they love the Amish background books. This book was so good that I could not put it down. Wow! I definitely give this book a 5, but if I were to do it on a 10 point scale, it would definitely be a 10. I could NOT put this book down and read it in two days and then I bought the rest of the series. I can't wait to get the 4th book in January, and I'm already reading book 2 of this series. Wow, I don't want to put the second book down either.

  2. What even makes this book better, is the author herself. So is so giving, to others working their way up and fans wanting to stop to say hello. I challenge anyone to read any of Amy Clipston's books and not be moved by her honest, open, characters that you feel you know. She is a master story teller.
